Established in 1990 as an independent partnership, the San Jose Tied House, the second bay area location using the Tied House name, opened its doors on August 8, 1991. This brewery produces all the Tied House beers on site except for some seasonal specialties that are brewed at either of the other locations.

It is a large beer hall with 28-foot ceilings and a length of about a city block. It features display cooking like the Mountain View Tied House, the same menu, a 2000 square foot beer garden, and a large screen TV and monitors in the pub and bar area.

It is centrally located at San Pedro Square only three blocks away from the Sharks Arena. Tied House Draft is the official micro-brewed beer available on tap at the San Jose Arena.
